Applications

Which marine projects we take on

Marine and offshore components often operate under constant moisture, vibration and corrosive conditions. We support projects involving fittings, pump and valve parts, propeller shafts, manifolds and deck hardware, machined from corrosion-resistant materials with controlled interfaces and documented inspection.

WHY MACHINE MARINE PARTS WITH TONGYONG

From prototype to marine-grade production

We machine precision components for marine and offshore equipment, including pump parts, valve bodies, propeller shafts, manifolds and deck hardware. Using CNC milling, turning, 5-axis machining and EDM, we manufacture parts that withstand demanding marine operating conditions.

Marine applications require reliable performance under saltwater exposure, vibration and continuous operation. We machine corrosion-resistant materials with controlled tolerances and documented inspection, helping prototypes transition smoothly into repeatable production.

Common questions

Marine machining FAQs

What materials do you recommend for saltwater/marine applications?

For marine and saltwater exposure, we recommend marine grade aluminum, 316 stainless steel, or bronze — these resist pitting and galvanic corrosion better than standard-grade alternatives like 304 stainless or brass. Titanium is also an option for the highest corrosion resistance.

Yes, we machine custom marine switch panels, boat steering components, and other marine hardware. Share your drawing and material preference and we'll confirm feasibility and finish options.

Yes, we offer anodizing, passivation, and other surface finishes suited to marine environments to further improve corrosion resistance. The right finish depends on your base material and exposure conditions.

Standard brass is vulnerable to dezincification in saltwater and isn't recommended for critical underwater components. We recommend bronze or 316 stainless steel for parts with direct or prolonged saltwater exposure.

Marine shaft and coupling parts often require tight tolerances for concentricity — we can discuss the specific tolerance class needed for your application during quoting.
